Kids aren’t just small adults, they have different needs. BUT, thankfully I’m slowly coming out of needing a lot of infant/baby products. THANK GOODNESS, but I will have some tips at the end of what I keep on hand as far as children’s medicine.
1. Tylenol & Advil — chewables. I love the chewables much more than liquids. It’s so hard to dose out in the middle of the night, and then you have to clean a dropper/cup. Love chewables. The end.
2. Liquid benedryl. This is a good one to have on hand, period — because if people really are having an allergic reaction, they might not be able to swallow the pills.
3. I have some children’s triaminic, but I don’t really use it. I think hugs and kleenex, and maybe some Wishgarden are the best things for littles with colds. Oh, and slurpeees. We had one doctor who always told kids to go get a slurpee, and somehow I think it helps. Maybe all the liquids, plus the sugar. Anyway….
What I used to keep on hand, that I don’t anymore

1. Infant’s tylenol. I bought this for a LONG time, far after P was an infant. Mostly because the dosing is so much easier with the dropper already in the bottle. Yes, I am that lazy. Judge away!
2. Teething Tablets. These worked like a CHARM on Spencer. Not so much for the other 2, but I tried. Seriously, if you think teething is your issue — you should give these a try.
3. Gas drops – blech to babies that you can’t figure out what’s wrong yet they cry and cry. I did try these. It’s hard to get your bowels going when you’ve been a mermaid for 9 months. Poor babies.
Anway, that’s what I kept around. This bin is shrinking. I also do have some kids vitamins in here, for times when P goes on a decent food strike. Which, is getting to be less often.
