Looking for a Disneyland hotel that has everything you need — we’ve got free breakfast, bunk beds, awesome outdoor pools. These best hotels are an awesome pick for your Disneyland vacation!
These are Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels as Disneyland doesn’t have NEAR enough Disney hotel rooms for the guests of the resort (unlike Walt Disney World). They rely on off-property hotels to make for happy Disneyland Park guests.
So excited to highlight some of the Anaheim properties you can stay at for your next Disneyland Trip. Here are the hotels I will highlight:
Table of contents
- Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area
- Sonesta Anaheim Resort
- Sonesta ES Suites Anaheim Resort Area

I toured the hotels with Get Away Today. I always book with them (one time I did not, and I regretted it, and ultimately we saved pennies and had a horrible stay) — and have done Disneyland Travel with them since since 1998. Big fan of them. I wouldn’t do a hotel tour with just anyone. 🙂
❤️ FAVORITE HOTELS of Pulling Curls Readers ❤️
– The Clarion — The price can’t be beat!
– Anaheim Majestic – People love the free shuttle!
– Best Western Anaheim Inn — SO close and great!
– Castle Inn — A FAVORITE with little kids!
– Cambria Hotel – GREAT one for larger parties, and I love their price
I have videos of all of these hotels on this Instagram Story highlight (people love those for helping them pick a spot to stay).
Please keep in mind that this is NOT my only Disneyland hotel posts — If you are looking for the best Disneyland hotels, I have some other ones you might want to check-out:
- Best Hotels NEAR Disneyland (these are the closest hotels, all very walkable)
- Disneyland Family Packages (this reviews a lot of the hotels I have personally stayed at).
- Cheapest Disneyland Hotels (great for a low-perk / budget friendly stay)
- 19+ Hotels Near Disneyland with Bunk Beds (yup, that’s a lot of family-friendly hotels)
- Benefits of staying at a Disneyland Hotel — sometimes staying at on-property hotels like Disney’s Grand Californian hotel, The Disneyland Hotel or Disney’s Paradise Pier hotel has a lot of benefits! Disneyland resort hotels sometimes get things like extra magic hours or special lines depending on the season.
Before we get started, a few tips. Since I was touring right after the parks were allowed to open, and due to Covid restrictions, complimentary breakfasts looked very different. I may mention a grab and go breakfast, but all of these hotels plan to bring back a FULL breakfast (including hot items) soon!
Many of these hotels are easily accessed using the ART shuttle service (that stands for Anaheim Resort Transit). It is shifting as guests return but it s a convenient and well-priced option. Get Away Today often has great multi-day passes too!
Another thing, be sure to check out those Instagram Stories to see bed sizes. Some of these hotels just have double beds, but I MUCH prefer queen beds (if not king)… just something to think about.
Finally, remember that most of these hotels will say they’re close to Disneyland, but often they mean Disneyland GROUNDS. The entrance to actual Disneyland or California Adventure is well beyond that. Harbor Boulevard hotels will likely be the closest ones.
Ok, let’s jump into the hotels!
Great Hotels Near Disneyland:
Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area (Moderate Property)
Disclosure: I was hosted at this property for a stay in April 2022, but all opinions are my own and I was not under any obligation to make any specific thoughts about the hotel.
Located one mile from the Disneyland Resort, the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort offers all the comforts of home and more in their family friendly hotel! Each guest room comes equipped with a full kitchen and free in-room high speed internet. Public areas available to guests include an outdoor pool, BBQ area, basketball court and more.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- 4th Night Free
- Reduced rate parking
- Free Breakfast
Hilary’s Review:
While this hotel is a bit further away they have LARGE rooms. If you’re looking for a hotel for large families (and not spend an arm and a leg) this could be a great option for you. They all have full kitchens, and they’re right around some GREAT restaurants.
I stayed in a room that had one room with 2 queen beds, and another room with one king. Plus, each room has its own bathroom. So, yes — 2 bathrooms. PLUS there is a living room and kitchen between the rooms. I stayed with my daughter, plus another mom and her daughter. It was so nice that the girls could hang out and watch TV in the living room, and the moms could have their own alone time in their own rooms. Huge win. See my room tour in my stories right here.
For me, the distance is my main issue, but if I needed a large room the price is right on this one and I’d totally stay there! Remember you also get that free breakfast that could save you a lot of cash (Get Away Today offers the 4th night free here — which is a lot of money in their larger suites).
Pro’s for this hotel:
- HUGE rooms, some with 2 bathrooms
- RIGHT next to an ART stop (easy to catch the bus if you want to go that way)
- Great breakfast, with a variety of options
- Rooms are well-kept and clean
- Full Kitchens
- Fully stocked kitchens with plates etc.
- Helpful staff
Con’s for this hotel
- I wouldn’t consider this hotel “walkable” to Disney. While it’s not THAT far, when combined with the walking you’ll do at Disney it is likely not something you’d want to do.
- Hotel breakfast wasn’t always ready at 6:30 (even though it was supposed to be)
- Water pressure varied quite a lot (sometimes just stopped mid-shower)
- Only 2 elevators for the 8 floor hotel made for a bit of a wait to get upstairs in the mornings sometimes.
Sonesta Anaheim Resort (Moderate Property)
First off, big thanks to them for hosting during my stay in April 2021!!!!! I want to be really clear that they paid for my stay at their hotel for 2 nights. However, all opinions and ideas are my own.
The Sonesta Anaheim is located one mile from the Disneyland Resort, the Sonesta Anaheim Resort is a great family-friendly property. Guests can take advantage of the complimentary grab ‘n’ go breakfast, enjoy a meal at their on-site restaurant, The Burger Place, or relax at their large, heated outdoor swimming pool or hot tub.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- Free Grab ‘n’ Go Breakfast (they charge for this normally — so if you check in and they ask you to pay, remind them you’re with Get Away Today).
- 4th Night Free
- Free Parking ($12 per night savings)
My Review of the Sonesta Anaheim:
Before you think “where is this” — this USED To be the Holiday Inn, and its sister property used to be the StayBridge suites — which I stayed at several times with my little kids. It has been purchased for the Sonesta Brand.
The Sonesta is a very basic hotel room, but at a good price. It does have a fridge and a microwave. I wasn’t given maid service during my stay (this could have been a Covid thing, but I didn’t see it say anywhere) — which was fine since it was just me and my luggage. The deal breaker for me was that on my late check-out day (that I had talked over with both the staff, and the person on the front desk duty that AM) the maid barged into my room without a knock. As I’m a woman traveling alone that gives me the heebie jeebies — but was likely just a mistake.
In looking at the pricing between the Sonesta and the Sonesta SE, I to think I’d pick the Sonetsa SE if I had family with me. But, if I was just looking for a room, and wasn’t going to the parks the Sonesta is a good place to stay as well. There is ample parking, my room was quiet, for the most part I felt safe, the resort is well-kept and it does have complimentary breakfast and a nice pool area.
They ARE planning to bring back a full breakfast once Covid restrictions are over.
As far as proximity to the park I would NOT be walking to the park from this hotel. However, the ART shuttle has a stop right there, and it is easy to ride into the parks or you could take your car and pay the parking (or Uber, that’s about a $10 ride — which may be cheaper than ART shuttle depending on the size of your family).
They do have a burger restaurant on-property, but the hotel itself is not TOO close to any other restaurants. There are some restaurants pretty close. I would be reticent to walk in the area at night though. It’s near the freeway and a bit “out there”. I would much prefer to drive, Uber or the ART bus.
Especially with their 4th night free promo, that’s a great deal (and you could enjoy the Mickey Shaped pool for a bit on a “break” day too). Just be aware of the perks you get as a Get Away Today purchaser and make sure those are offered to you (and ask about Maid service if that’s important to you). This hotel is well-priced for how clean it is. I just prefer the space of the ES if other people are coming too. 🙂 Speaking of the ES….
Sonesta ES Suites Anaheim Resort Area (Moderate Property)
The Sonesta ES is just one mile from the Disneyland Resort, and located next to the Sonesta Anaheim Resort Area, the Sonesta ES Suites offers the comfort and quality every family needs with four different suite options. Each hotel suite comes with a full kitchen and offers a complimentary grab ‘n’ go breakfast daily. This hotel is a perfect option for larger families looking to sleep 6 or 8 people.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- Free Parking ($12 per night savings)
- 4th Night Free
- Free Grab ‘n’ Go Breakfast
I think the Sonesta ES can be a GREAT value! The rooms are large, and they have kitchenettes and lots of room for kids to get out post-park wiggles (always funny to me that they have those since I just want to lay down and die).
It is NOT walkable to the parks (I mean, you could — but it would add a lot to your day) but the rooms are good sized, you have a kitchenette and the morning breakfast has some good options (both Covid times and otherwise).
Radisson BLU Anaheim (Deluxe Property)
The Radisson Blu is a brand-new hotel, conveniently located next to the Disneyland Resort, Anaheim GardenWalk and Angel Stadium. Choose between one of their bunk-bed rooms if you’re traveling with a family, or a spacious suite for couples. Plus, Get Away Today guests can enjoy amenities like free WiFi, two outdoor heated swimming pools and more.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- Reduced Rates
- Reduced Parking Fee ($10 per night savings)
- Free WiFi
Hilary’s Thoughts:
While I haven’t stayed here, boy oh BOY does it look nice. I wasn’t sure what the whole “BLU” thing was, but apparently it’s a higher level of service than the average Radisson. While it’s upscale, I also found it very FUN as well. I ate at their restaurant/bar one night (on my own dime) and it was very yummy. I thought the rooms were lovely and had a lot of storage. This is totally on my list to stay at next time.
AND, if you book soon, they have CRAZY (good crazy) rates because they want to let people know they’re out there.
For me, this one would be best for a girls trip or with my husband. I would totally stay here with my family, but the rooftop has a GREAT girls trip vibe. However, their 2 queen bunk room would also be awesome for your entire family (which you can see in my stories).
A friend walked from this hotel and said it took about 20 mintues, but realistically I’d take the ART shuttle or Uber into the parks.
SunCoast Park Hotel Anaheim (Moderate Property)
At the SunCoast Park Hotel Anaheim, guests can enjoy spacious guest rooms complete with a microwave and mini-fridge, an infinity pool and Disneyland fireworks views. Plus, guests will be able to enjoy exploring nearby restaurants and shops across the street at Anaheim GardenWalk.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- Free Parking ($24 per night savings)
- Resort Fee Waived ($17 per night savings)
- Reduced Rates
Hilary’s Thoughts:
I thought this hotel had a lot of good spaces with a very boutique feel. I guess it’s a Hilton Tapestry collection which means it’s under the Hilton brand, but each hotel tells a story.
They had some lovely family suites too. Great for larger families. The rooms are BIG — like, a lot of extra room which was nice to see (you can see that in my stories).
Their breakfast area was a good size and guests can go down both sides (think speed on early Disneyland mornings). I liked this property a lot, and I wouldn’t mind staying here at all.
The location is good, although it would be a bit of a walk into the park (it’s doable — I might walk in, and then uber home). one of the big perks is that it’s near the Anaheim garden walk which has a TON of restaurants.
Hampton Inn & Suites Anaheim Resort Convention Center (Moderate Property)
Less than a mile from the Disneyland Resort and within walking distance of the Anaheim Convention Center, the Hampton Inn & Suites is a brand-new hotel is a great option for families visiting Anaheim. Guests can enjoy spacious standard rooms or a kids suite, an outdoor pool and exercise room. Plus, they’ll be able to take advantage of complimentary grab ‘n’ go boxed breakfast and free WiFi.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- Reduced Rates
- Free Grab ‘n’ Go Breakfast
- Free WiFi
Hilary’s Thoughts:
This was a REALLY lovely property! Their rooms were really large, and they had a nice large breakfast area. I absolutely loved the family suite (available with Get Away Today) with the bunk beds and the pull-out couch. I really liked it. VERY clean and well-kept. I would totally stay here.
Personally, this is too far for me to walk. I think you could catch the Toy Story Shuttle if that’s running, but I’d probably use an Uber or the ART bus to save my feet.
Castle Inn & Suites (Value Property)
Located across the street and within walking distance of Disneyland Resort, the Castle Inn & Suites is an Anaheim area hotel that families have enjoyed for years. Kids love the castle theme! Guests can enjoy amenities like an in-room mini fridge, outdoor pool and more.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- 4th Night Free
- Free Parking
- Free WiFi
Hilary’s Thoughts:
I have so many happy memories at this hotel I may be a bit biased, but it is probably my favorite low-cost option close to the parks. I’d never seen their family suites before but they are just an AMAZING option! You can see it in my stories. Also, this is a family run hotel and as we’re heading out of the shut down I love that they are still running it.
This is 100% walkable, but it does not have a free breakfast. HOWEVER, my kids rarely ate the breakfast like I’d hoped, so having some stuff in the fridge, and bringing snacks into the park is probably your best option anyway. Great option!
Best Western PLUS Stovall’s Inn (Value Property)
Located a 1/2 mile from the Disneyland Resort, the Best Western PLUS Stovall’s is a family-friendly hotel offers spacious guestrooms, two outdoor pools and a charming topiary garden. Plus, guests can enjoy a complimentary grab ‘n’ go breakfast during their stay.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- 3rd Night Free
- Free Grab ‘n’ Go Breakfast
- Free WiFi
My thoughts are below as these two hotels are very similar (and owned by the same family)….
Best Western PLUS Pavilions (Value Property)
Located less than a mile from the Disneyland Resort, the Best Western Pavilions is a family vacation favorite. Guests can enjoy a grab ‘n’ go breakfast, an in-room microwave and refrigerator to add to the comfort of their stay.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- 3rd Night Free
- Waived Resort Fee ($5.00 per night savings)
- Kids Eat Free at Denny’s next door
Hilary’s Thoughts:
These are great, basic hotel rooms. Both hotels are very similar and close together. Personally, that’s a LONG walk into the park from that side so I would get a ride somehow (but many said they’d walk in our group) — they have a nice retro feel, but were still clean and efficient. They have nice large breakfast rooms, which would be a nice perk.
Another thing I thought of is their proximity to other theme parks like Knotts — you’d skip a lot of the Disney traffic as you headed to Knotts Berry Farms. Just something to keep in mind. It is also provides easy access to Downton Disney — better than than other hotels.
Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort Convention Center (Moderate Property)
This brand-new Residence Inn near Disneyland ensures a comfortable and memorable vacation. Guests can enjoy the spacious suites and use the hotel’s free grocery shopping service to cook in their in-room kitchen or the public BBQ area. Plus, guests can cool off each afternoon by the roof-top pool and children’s splash area.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- Reduced Rates
- Reduced Parking Fee ($12 per night savings)
- Free Grab ‘n’ Go Breakfast
Hilary’s Thoughts:
I REALLY liked this one. I mean, really, really. The hotel is beautiful. It’s not far away and the family suites are AMAZING. I think that THIS is the hotel for larger families, and you’d be very happy here! They have a great rooftop pool area (amazing for fireworks!). Plus you have a full kitchen.
Their family suite is a SECRET deal that you can sometimes get with Get Away Today (just call and ask them if they have any family suite availability). That includes 2 queens and then a separate room with 2 bunk beds and their OWN BATHROOM (I just checked, this one is pricey — but worth it if you’ve got a large family as that extra bathroom would be AMAZING).
Really nice property. This is on my list to stay at soon! (and the rates for their regular suites is pretty great)
Springhill Suites at Anaheim Resort Convention Center (Moderate Property)
The Springhill Suites at the Anaheim Resort Convention Center is a family-friendly hotel located next to the Anaheim Convention Center. Families will love their spacious suites – including bunk bed options. Guests can start their fun-filled day with free grab ‘n’ go breakfast each morning and end their nights at the roof-top pool with a view of the fireworks!
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- Reduced Rates
- Reduced Parking Fee ($12 per night savings)
- On-site Fitness Center
Hilary’s Thoughts:
One of my favorite things is that they are re-doing some of the rooms to put a door in — meaning you can be SEPARATE from your kids. Again, a really nice spot. Mostly walkable, very clean and a good amount of space for families.
I probably didn’t like this one QUITE as much as the Residence inn (it doesn’t have full kitchens) but I thought it was a great option. FYI, these two hotels are right next door to each other and there is also a CVS in the complex.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort Convention Center (Moderate Property)
Located near the Anaheim Convention Center, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort Convention Center offers spacious suites with full kitchens for families vacationing in Anaheim. Plus, guests can enjoy a free grab ‘n’ go boxed breakfast every morning or make their own meals in their full en suite kitchen.

Hilary’s Review:
Man oh man I liked this one guys. The full kitchen makes it SO easy to do your own thing but also really close to the parks. The breakfast area was top-notch, it has a putting green, a game room and a basketball court, plus a lovely pool area too (with dive in movies shown on a wall — pretty fun! (while mom and dad relax by the pool) 🙂
REALLY nice hotel, I’d totally stay here!
As far as walkability — I wouldn’t walk direct, but this is RIGHT by the toy story lot, so when that shuttle begins again it will be a great option!
Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance (Deluxe Property)
Hotel Overview:
The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance ensures the ultimate family-friendly vacation experience. Just a short walk away from the Disneyland Resort, the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance offers a Surfside Waterpark complete with huge waterslides, drench bucket, swimming pools and more right on property. Guests can enjoy the spacious rooms with bunk beds, free Wi-Fi and Netflix.

Hilary’s Thoughts
Every kid wants to stay at this hotel. A water park and a hotel! But I also heard that they have some of the most expensive rates in the area (and in looking — YIPES! yes they do!) As I look at the rates I don’t think they’re warranted. We stayed here once, but the water park has pretty limited hours and my kids didn’t get to experience it much because we were at the Disney theme parks for most of the day (I want to say they closed at 8).
Don’t get me wrong. It’s a nice hotel with good # of beds (every room sleeps six), but it is TIGHT. It is SO walkable and we stopped by Panera or McDonalds on our way (as no free breakfast is included). I have a full review about it in my family packages post. The rooms are quiet and it’s fun to be so close to the parks. If money isn’t a huge issue, this is a great option! 🙂
Also, keep in mind they only offer Valet parking which is a good amount each night.
Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel (Moderate Property)
Located across the street (SUPER close proximity, one of the best in this post) from the Disneyland Resort, The Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel is a family-friendly rooms offer plush bedding and an in-room refrigerator. The outdoor pool will keep you cool on hot days and kids love Castaway Cove, a pirate-themed water playground.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:

Hilary’s Thoughts:
Guys, I kind of fell in love with this hotel. They are working on renovating their rooms. They have a super fun water park (I think this one is geared more towards little kids, but they also have a large separate pool as well) and there is a lot of green area. The rooms have a fun retro vibe and the staff was REALLY nice (like, all the staff was nice, but theirs was extra nice).
So, no breakfast (again, McDonalds is on your way to the parks). It’s a tiny walk but still walkable to the main entrance (or frankly, get an Uber if you want). But, if you compare it’s prices with the Courtyard (it’s just a BIT further) — YIPES you’re saving quite a lot of churros!
This is on my list to stay at with my family for sure.
The Anaheim Hotel (Value Property)
The Anaheim Hotel is located across the street from the Disneyland Resort and next to the Anaheim Garden Walk. Families will love the comfortable guest rooms equipped with a mini fridge.Plus, many guest rooms at The Anaheim Hotel also come with a balcony or patio. Kids love the Olympic sized swimming pool, exploring the nine acres of gardens and eating at their on-site restaurant, The Pizza Press.

Hilary’s Thoughts:
Guyzzz… I think this was my biggest surprise (a happy one) of my stay. I absolutely LOVED The vibe of this hotel. I can. not. wait to do a girls trip here! It has a cool vibe (similar to the Hojo’s but more adult – and cheaper).
The rooms are a good size (most rooms have a balcony or a patio) and there is a ton of green space. They were actually holding a wedding there in one of the areas — there’s SO much room (which is nice to see right across the street from Disneyland).
They don’t have a free breakfast, but the rooms are a good size (LOVE the TWO KING bed suite) and they have a great pizza place on property. The rooms do have fridges so you can stash a yogurt there to eat on your way to the parks).
This hotel is WELL PRICED for how close it is. 🙂 Totally on my list to stay at!
Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim Resort (Moderate Property)
The Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim Resort is the perfect place for the ultimate Southern California vacation. Guests can enjoy spacious rooms that include double showers, complimentary WiFi and free breakfast each morning. If guests are looking to cool down, they can experience a 30,000 sq ft. waterpark that features water slides, pop-jets, splash pads, and a large pool. Plus, they can enjoy on-site dining options like The Habit, Jersey Mike’s YogurtLand, Starbucks and more.
Get Away Today Exclusives and Other Perks:
- Reduced Rates
- Free Breakfast
- 30,000 sq. foot Waterpark
Hilary’s Thoughts:
This hotel is just BIG. The rooms are big, there’s a LOT of space (which I REALLY appreciated during Covid). The water park area is great for larger kids (it’s more slides and a really great pool rather than just a splash pad feeling). The suites have a full fridge and tons of room. Plus a shower and a tub. Pretty snazzy.
The breakfast area is HUGE — TONS of space to eat and enjoy yourself.
For me, this hotel just had a ton of space. It wouldn’t be HORRIBLE to walk to, but I doubt I would. 😀
This one’s on my list to stay at. Just really clean and large. 🙂 And I just peeked at the price and I LOVE it for a suite room.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT make the mistake of not booking your vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth with Get Away Today. I’ve been SO impressed by them during the pandemic and how helpful they’ve been to guests. It speaks volumes about who they are and how much they value customer service. And yes, I’ve used them since 1998. They even put me and my old lanyard on their FB live one day since they’ve changed it since then. 🙂 #oldie
The beauty is that there are a LOT of options for all the different families out there. I can’t wait to stay at a few of these for a bit and give you a longer review. Be sure to sign-up for my newsletter for any further updates. I hope you enjoyed my honest review of these Anaheim hotels.
