Life is moving SO fast. My baby is in Kindergarten, and my bigger baby is in high school. I think the world turning way too fast is setting in hard right now. I wanted a glimpse of our life right now.
I went in to help out at another Kindergarten class on Wednesday. Princess P has done really well so far, but as soon as she saw me with other kids the tears kicked in. She got so upset. Turns out, I won’t be helping out again for a bit. She’s having a struggle with sleeping and eating and the whole routine of things. It’s hard to see her struggle like that, but I know she’ll be in the hang of it soon. Getting up as gone well, thanks to the CD from Frozen. I do notice her placing SO much emphasis on friends and what friends say. That’s new territory, and I just want her to be strong and not worry so much about friends. In recalling my own youth, I wasn’t so good at it… were you?
Mr Middle did NOT get the teacher he wanted, but he did get the friends he wanted and he seems to have a really great teacher, regardless of his wishes. He is loving the power of getting P to the bus and bringing her home. Yesterday he was in charge for a few minutes before Drew got home. Just a taste of power with that one, we’ll have a tiny Stalin on our hands.
High school treats El Presidante well. He seems to be on top of things, although I think I need to be more on top of him. He ended up not taking an AP class and I think that might be a good thing. He is LOVING having band (even from his dad) and seems to be picking good friends. Most of his middle school friends didn’t go to this middle school, but so far so good.
Drew is a MASTER. He finally finished his portfolio presentation for his faculty this past week. I’m SO proud of him. I feel like the move is kind of finally complete. That was a large part of why we came here, and was annoying to always have in the back of our heads, both financially and time-wise. It’s DONE. His second job is at Heritage Academy in LaVeen, teaching music. So life is working out, he is enjoying both jobs.
As for me I do have a little schedule book. I tend to have an hour of cleaning (more on Mondays, less on Fridays) and then a couple hours of blogging (about an hour promoting, an hour writing). We had our first PTO meeting this morning. I LOVE the moms (and dad) that I do PTO with. I feel so blessed to have wonderful friends. This summer, I caught up with a lot of old friends. If you are my friend on Facebook I was REALLY effusive noticing how God puts JUST the right people in our lives at JUST the right time. I am a lucky gal. A lucky gal who is addicted to Maroon 5 lately. True confession.
