I made a Great to be Eight brochure, that lists all the important info to turning eight in our primary. It took a little time, and I wanted to share it in case it saves anyone else time.
When my oldest turned 8 I had a lot of quetsions like how to plan the baptism and how it would all work, and I thought this would answer a lot of the questions. We are also going to have a quick meeting after church in a couple of weeks and have all the leaders talk to them about what to expect from cubs/activity days. I think knowledge breeds excitement when you’re 8, and excitement is exciting. 🙂
Here are the jpg’s and the file is here. Let me know if it helps you out, or if you have stuff to add! {we will be printing it in black and white to save costs, and it looks pretty great that way}

THANK YOU FOR THIS! I have 11 children turning 8 this year in a small ward that normally has 2 or 3. 8 of the 11 are either not active or semi-active, but their parents have already contacted me about wanting them baptized. The children don’t really know what it is. This is the perfect handout to help them understand and go home with some things to ponder. Other than some minor tweaking because our baptisms are not at a stake level (too far away), it is perfect!

I love this, but I can’t get it to open for me. What type of document is it?
Hilary says
It’s a publisher document.

hey Hilary, i’m trying to download the brochure but it says it’s empty. Any tips? I absolutely love it and would love to use it!
Hilary says
Ok, I just looked and it’s there– but you’ll need Microsoft Publisher to view it.
