Oh man, this lesson is pretty well above us.
I’m simplifying a lot. Luckily, there are a LOT of pictures with this lesson.
I need to find a book about telling the truth. A lot of these early church stories are about our church being the TRUE church, and sometimes truth is a hard concept.
Sometimes my mom plays “truth or lie” with my little kids, just so they get the idea about which one is true and which one isn’t. We may play some of that.
I also found this little goodie on Sugardoodle. I think scissor skills are a good thing to work on during church. Luckily, my class is small enough that I can do that. We also may color this little goodie if we have time.
I’m not going to lie, I am still having a hard time pulling away from what the church has written in the manual, but I really KNOW it’s not really working when I go straight from the book. So, we’re doing what we can.
Go me.
Thoughts?

It is a difficult concept for adults, and how to go at it for the 4-5 year old crowd? Another idea, Feb 2013 Friend, p16. If they can sum it up in one page with 3 pictures, then maybe something in that would be helpful for your class. 🙂 Too bad we don’t have a better song to sing about it. I’ve never been much of a fan of “The Priesthood is Restored” song. There’s a project for you in your spare time (ha): write a poem about John the Baptist restoring the Aaronic Priesthood. Then just find some music person to write a fabulous catchy tune, maybe you know someone…
