All Zen in his baby tub. |
Ok, maybe he’s not the chosen one, but he’s so pretty fantastically great. Sure, he’s got kid issues but Spencer is my little me. He’s kind of obsessed about getting stuff done, he works hard and he really likes to giggle, giggle, giggle. I adore every inch of his tiny frame.
How CAN he be turning 9 you might ask? Well, a long time ago in a valley far away there came a little butterball of a baby. 9 whole pounds (8 pounds 15 ounches, but the kid pooped everywhere before he was born). When they put him on his belly I wondered who on earth this baby could be, my babies weren’t little fatties!
Family of 3. |
He obviously thinned out pretty quickly. 🙂
So without further adieu, I give you 9 things I love about Spencer. I will say this is very easy for me!
1. He has a great work ethic. The kid really knows how to get stuff and I LOVE it!
Six Weeks old |
2. He really feels for the underdog. We recently had an issue with a kid at school not having enough friends and Spencer got right in there to help out how he could. I was pretty impressed.
One year old, eating gluten for the first time |
3. He loves to laugh. I mean, laugh and laugh and laugh. He finds SO many things REALLY funny. Of course, being a 9 year old boy a lot of what he finds funny is seriously inappropriate. But it’s still funny to see him get such a kick out of things.
18 months — check out those curls! |
A drippy 2nd Birthday |
3 Years Old — more serious. |
5. I seriously don’t think he’s ever missed the bus. We’ve had a few close calls but this guy pretty well gets himself out the door for the bus every day. I love him for it. I’m excited for him to pass that trait along to a little sister in a few years…
4 Years Old with ‘da Boys |
6. Speaking of little sisters, man oh man does he love his little sister. I was awfully worried about kids so far apart but he and P play so well together, those fears were pretty well unfounded. I love it.
The Big Five. |
Six years old on the 100th day of school |
7. Spencer loves school. He does really well and I’m sure that’s why but he really loves going to school. When he was sick a couple of weeks ago he was dying to go back. Love that. Thanks to all the great teachers he’s had!
Smashingly Seven. |
8. He’s not a procrastinator, and this is probably my favorite thing about Spencer. I love how he gets stuff done right away. love, love, love. Did I mention I love it?
It’s great to be eight as his baptism. |
9. He picks great friends. Out of all the kids in his class Spencer picked a really sweet boy who we later found out was LDS. He doesn’t seem to be {fingers crossed} a moth to a flame kind of kid. He really likes good people.
This past Christmas |
So, there you have it. Nine years of pure bliss. Sure, you can’t keep your hands off your wiggly teeth, you can’t stop laughing at anything involving farting or bums but you’re all mine and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Happy Birthday Mr Middle. We sure do love you!
