Man oh MAN where has July gone? {for that fact, how is Conner in HIGH SCHOOL, but I digress}.
HELLO JULY! July has been very good to our family. Here’s what is happening with each of us.
Princess P will be heading to Kindergarten in just a couple of weeks {yes, we start very early}. In anticipation she has decided to climb back into my rib cage on any occasion it’s available. I so wanted to store a 5 year old in my body. Yay! She is VERY excited and we are excited for her. It will be a great year. I’m taking her clothes shopping (for possibly, the first time ever — I’ve gotten 95% of her clothes from Goodwill or Kid to Kid since she was born) this week and it will be fun to see what she thinks is good for the first day. Princess P had a GREAT time visiting family while we were in Utah. We have a few girl cousins that are of a similar age. She also had a few meltdowns from all the new people.
Mr Middle is reading up a storm this summer. Nothing new there. The day seems to rise and fall on if he’s earned electronics. He had a great time in Utah swimming and playing with more cousins. He’s excited to be in 5th grade this year and “be the smartest kid in school.” I mostly hope no one beats him up (these pictures are from our trip to the newly remodeled Bean Museum}.
El Presidante is at Band camp as I type, with his father as a teacher. We went and picked up books and paid for his activities {I should say OVER paid, but that’s a blog for another day}. He is enjoying it (more than I enjoyed band camp). He is meeting a lot of freshman in band and it’s exciting to see him blossoming into the person he’s going to be. He had a good time in Utah playing with cousins and helping Grandpa in the yard. He turned 14 while we were gone (!). He got a smartphone for his birthday. Be on the lookout for a blog coming up to see how we handled that and how it’s going.
Mr E. {mystery, get it?} had his library books come in the day before we drove to Utah. Look for a blog about that coming up, but things are working out. Are they perfect, no. BUT, they are working out. He finished his last masters class last Friday (YAY!) and he has to defend his portfolio (they don’t do a thesis in his program) in a couple of weeks when the faculty moseys back into town. I am so proud of him. I wish we could juts relax and take it easy now, but marching band is in full gear, and he has a new school to get going. Life goes on.
I’m here, writing this blog. I am working more during the summer and I’m still unsure as to how my life is going to look like when P is in school. I will work a bit more, but who knows. I still seem to find things to fill my time with. I need to get going on a fall job chart (Kindergartenerrs need more responsibility). I’m doing dates with each kid before school starts and I’m starting to feel the weight of pto-co-president {but a lighteness from not having the carnival to think about}. So, that’s what is up at our house. Hope things are going well at yours as well!
